Charente Holiday Cottages are set in a peaceful hamlet surrounded by spectacular lakes with sandy beaches, the perfect location to relax and enjoy the benefits of the micro-climate of the Charente, France's second sunniest region.   

This 17th Century farmhouse with original oak beams and bread oven (once used to supply the village and local area with bread & patisseries) has been recently renovated to a very high standard.

Two spacious, well equipped cottages each with their own south facing patio area complete with arbour, garden furniture, BBQ and lighting, all you need to enjoy alfresco meals anytime. To the rear of the property you will find 2 acres of gardens totally enclosed within a laurel hedge and a variety of trees.  Here you can play Petanque, (french bowls) practice your golf swing, play badminton or simply laze on the decking by the pool 

 Non-sun worshippers are catered for with shady areas for relaxing with a good book, maybe accompanied with a  glass or two of the excellent local wines or just sway gently on a garden swing listening to the singing of the many birds that live in the area.

The cottages are less than 10 minutes from the pretty market town of Chabanais (see the area page) and are ideally located for golf, sight seeing, walking, cycling and fishing. 

The Vienne River is excellent for canoeing, kyaking and fishing. Local fishermen regularly catch up to 30lb plus (not your usual fisherman's tale) 

               Airports at Limoges (45mins) and Poitiers (1 1/2hrs) Bordeaux (2 1/2hrs)

Eurostar to Angouleme or Limoges via Paris or Lille

 (connections from Paris require you to change stations, whilst connections from Lille only require a change  of platforms)
